How are you celebrating Christmas this year?

Well I woke up and we opened stockings and presents, had pancakes for breakfast, and watched A Christmas Story. Later on we'll be going up to my Grandma's house to eat and open more presents.

This is the most recent poem I've written.

The Cycle
I prefer my menstrual cycle
to the cycle we go through
It is so cliche, but you are just like a bad drug.
There's no rehab or cure to.
Two weeks of getting along, then you accuse me of deeds I have not done
You apologize afterwards and I...
...like a fool believe you
Then the cycle begins again.
Another two weeks
Another two months
Hell, why not another two years right?

I am no dog that you can beat, tail between my legs
I will not come back to this with my tail wagging.
I'll stay in my dog house through the years, no matter the weather
Keeping myself in a fetal position to stay warm
The fleas will be better company than you
No more parasitic either.

You can offer your empty promises like food to my emaciated id
And I will starve til I die
before ever going back to you.

So for all you people who voted for Obama, I shall dedicate this post.

I never talked much during the election season on who I was planning to vote for and why or why not because everyone wanted Obama so what was the point really. It would have only made me angry.

But now I feel I should post a little bit about this supposedly progressive man who wants us to have hope and gives us empty promises of change.

I just finished reading this article after seeing it posted by a friend of mine on myspace. Big fucking suprise. If anyone who was voting actually went and did some researched they would have known by going to this link that Obama did not support gay rights in 2006. He claims that they should have civil unions though, but not marriage. He also says that gay marriage is not as important as equal rights for gays. Hate to break it to you Barack, but gay marriage is part of those equal rights you speak of. Apparently his cocaine use in high school damaged some brain cells.

He also said in this debate :
Q: [to Keyes]: You’ve criticized homosexuality throughout your career. What would you say to your child if he or she were a homosexual?

KEYES: Marriage is based upon heterosexual relations because they are connected to procreation. Where procreation is impossible, marriage is irrelevant. And that is the civic explanation against homosexual marriage. It is irrelevant. And the idea that one should have legislation that is regulating private friendships for no reason is a degrading of those friendships.

OBAMA: Well, to answer the original question, I would love that child and seek to support them. I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman but I detest the bashing and vilifying of gays and lesbians. Most gays and lesbians are seeking basic recognition of their rights so they’re not discriminated against in employment or renting a house, so they can see their partner in a hospital. These are rights for everybody, not just some people.

So yeah. Real progressive. I love this country for what it says it stands for. I hate this country for what it does instead.
